Q) I don't have a video. Can you make me one?

A) Yes, please see our Video Production FAQ or visit our Video ad production packages page




Q) I have a video. How do I get it viewed for free?

A) You need to acquire playlist spots. By watching 3 video ads at LBV you will be credited with one playlist spot. Over time, all spots on the playlist will receive an equal number of views.




Q) How can I boost the views my video gets?

A) You can assign the same video to many playlist spots. For example, if you have 50 spots all containing the same video, then that video would receive 50 times more views than a video that only had one spot.

If you wish to really boost your video's exposure, consider purchasing a PPC video ad traffic package.




Q) Is watching other people's video ads the only way to earn playlist spots?

A) No. By referring others to LBV you'll be credited the accrued spots of any referral (referred spots) if they choose not to register.




Q) I have referred a viewer to LBV. How do I know if I earned bonus spots?

A) Referrals must watch at least 3 video ads before they can earn a playlist spot. If they register, any spots accrued will be credited to them. If they have not registered after 12 hours, any accrued playlist spots and monthly prize entries will be credited to you.




Q) Can I pay to get my video shown?

A) The playlist is exclusive to Advertisers who have acquired spots. You cannot purchase you way onto it. However, we can give your video exposure on our network of websites. It is PPC video traffic, so you only pay for clicks to your web site not for views.




Q) Why can't I choose which video ad to watch like on-demand video sites?

A) LBV is committed to ensuring fairness for all advertisers. We do this by ordering the playlist so that all spots get viewed an equal number of times. This creates a level playing field set apart only by the quality of each advertiser's offer.

We may in the future, create video ad categories to further improve conversion rates.




Q) Why don't you have rewind, pause, and fast forward controls like other media players?

A) Our video player is designed to deliver an advertiser's message from start to finish without interruption. As our catchcry says "Getting your message the undivided attention it deserves", we can only deliver this by ensuring a video will play only when fully loaded, and, the user is not skipping parts. This is the key to LBV.




Q) What happens with my viewing count if I navigate to other pages on your website?

A) Nothing. When you return to the homepage your viewing count remains the same. Remember that when navigating away during the playing of a video you get no credit for the part of that video that you had already viewed. That's because you receive a viewing credit only upon clicking one of the three buttons that complete the video ad.




Q) If I leave your site and then return, what happens to my viewing count?

A) For members who have logged in, your viewing count is fully retained. For visitors and members who are not logged in, however, your viewing and spot count revert back to zero when you close your browser.




Q) How come I keep seeing the same video ad repeatedly?

A) This will occur only if you fail to click one of the three buttons following the completion of that particular video ad. This happens by navigating to other pages then clicking any link that returns you to the homepage and is done to ensure that the video ad is viewed in it's entirety.




Q) How does the playlist work?

A) The playlist is ordered individually per viewer. It plays the least viewed video ads that you have not seen first. Once all video ads have been viewed equally the playlist simply rotates through every video in a loop indefinitely.




Q) Once I add my video, how long does it take before it's placed on the playlist?

A) Your video ad is subject to approval before viewable at LBV. You can expect this review to take 48 hours. The fastest way to get your video ad reviewed is to host it on a website in flv format. If you don't know how to do this you can put your video on YouTube which will convert it for you automatically.

If you want your video ad to be aired as soon as it has been approved, ensure you have unused playlist spots and tick the "Active" option when adding the video.




Q) How many views is one playlist spot likely to generate?

A) It depends on how many other video ads there are in the system and how many times those other videos have been seen and how many playlist spots they have.

What we can say with certainty is that your video ad will be viewed many times in a short period of time after it is assigned to a playlist spot. When that spot has received more views than others the video is less likely to be seen. This serves both to increase the utility of the video for the viewer and the freshness of the lead for the advertiser.

Your playlist spot will, however, remain in the system indefinitely and can generate leads forever.

To keep you video receiving views continually, you should add new playlist spots to it regularly.




Q) What is meant by unassigned playlist spots?

A) This just means the number of playlist spots that have been earned but not yet configured to show a video. This will usually be a result of the member not yet having a video ad or it may be the result of a member wrongly assuming that video ads are automatically allocated once entered into their LBV account. Automatic allocation only happens if you have configured one of your videos to be a "default video".




Q) What measures are in place to prevent someone cheating to earn playlist spots?

A) There are several measures in place. The first prevents automated scripts from viewing multiple videos by using a simple audio instruction which must be correctly responded to before a playlist spot can be earned. It acts to ensure users have their sound on, and avoids viewers having to read and enter one of those annoying text coded images.

We also have measures in place to ensure that viewers cannot earn more than one view every 30 seconds based on our server's clock. As a final resort our monitoring processes alert us if a viewer's behavior falls outside normal parameters.




Q) Is that why my mouse needs to be positioned over the video I'm watching to count as a view?

A) Yes, it prevents people from not paying the proper attention to the video ads they pretend to watch. It backs the promise we make to advertisers "Getting your message the undivided attention it deserves".




Q) If the leads are as good as you say, why is there no charge for them?

A) Like any new service, talk is cheap. Until we've proven ourselves and earned your trust, the best way to do so is by creating a no risk environment in which you can put LBV to the test and decide for yourself.

We cannot rule out a subscription or cost per lead structure at some point in the future.




Q) I can see the Click Thru Rates (CTR) of other peoples video ads, why can't I see their Conversion Rate (CVR) too?

A) The CVR is sensitive and private information, it is also unreliable for comparative purposes as different advertsisers have very different goals.




Q) How come my video ad with adult content is not shown?

A) Only members who have opted to view adult content (by supplying their date of birth in the member area) will see video ads categorised as restricted adult content.




Q) My video converts well on LBV but I would like more views. I know you're more about quality than quantity but is there a way you can give my video more exposure?

A) Yes, we've established a network of high traffic sites where your video can be featured and played delivering you many more leads than LBV alone. Visit our Pay Per Click video ad traffic packages page to learn more.




Video Production FAQ:


Q) How long will it take for LBV to create my video ad?

A) Both Standard and Premium packages will generally be complete within 7 days but in rare cases may take up to 14 days.




Q) Why are video production package costs non-refundable?

A) So that labour including creative input (storyboarding, image and video selection, voice over, scripting, and music) for your video ad is not wasted.




Q) Can I provide my own images, logo, or video?

A) Yes, if you have pictures, logos, or video files you would like considered for use in your video ad, you can upload them using our 'Upload' link found on the "video details" page.




Q) What are ‘Stock Video Clips’?

A) Stock video clips include pre-shot video, animation, or dynamic backgrounds that give your video ad more visual appeal. Examples are chosen that generally relate to your keyword selection.




Q) Do I need to provide ad copy or narration text?

A) No. If you have a website, we will visit your website and create ad copy for you based on the information provided there as well as on the "video details" page. However, you are welcome to provide ad copy (and/or narration text for premium packages) if you wish.




Q) Can my video ad be longer than 30 seconds?

A) No, all videos produced will be exactly 30 secs to fit seamlessly with the LBV video network model.




Q) Can I provide my own video footage for my video ad?

A) Yes, you can upload it to us using the 'Upload' link on our "video details" page. Preferable formats are .avi, .wmv, .mov (Quicktime), or .mpg (mpeg). Should our producer decide to incorporate the footage, it will be edited into usable clips for your video ad.




Q) How many changes can I have made to my video ad?

A) No changes are permitted unless we have incorrectly interpreted any of the information supplied by yourself on the "video details" page. Please ensure, therefore, that the information you provide to us is both accurate and reflects exactly what you want.




Q) What if I don't like my new video ad?

A) Our producers are experienced in creating video ads that convert viewers to leads. We make sure that your video correctly reflects your advertised offer and design it to appeal to the viewer. Remember the conversion rate of the video is what is important, not necessarily individual taste.




Q) What exactly does the guaranteed 5% Click-through rate for Premium Packages refer to?

A) This calculation is based upon LBV click thrus from viewers on the LBV platform only and not viewed from external sites. This is because these are the only click thrus that are accurately measurable to us and hence verifiable.




Q) What if I want to make changes to my video ad later, like for special sales or events?

A) You will need to have another video made - no re-editing possible at this point in time.
